I have to ask the question. Am I the only one who's tired of the rhetoric coming out of Washington? Tell ya why I ask this... I keep hearing these talking heads making statements about the government creating jobs, but it's bullshit, because historically the government of this, or any other country, has never been successful in the "creating jobs" business. The only thing people in our government knows how to do is throw money at a problem and hope for the best - but it never fixes anything - it just gets us deeper in debt. Which, I might add, is a situation that I had nothing to do with. Neither did a lot of other responsible people who didn't buy houses they couldn't afford through banks that gambled their ass on the housing "ponzi scheme". So now we've bailed out the banks, GM, Chrysler, and a few other companies that probably should have gone under. I've been looking at new trucks lately - I'm really beginning to consider a Ford - especially since they didn't go to DC with their hat in their hand begging for a handout!
The government's job is not to create new jobs; The government's job is to get the hell out of the way and make it easier for entrepreneurs to create jobs - it's that simple. People who work for a living don't want - or need - a handout. We just want to go to work, make a fair wage, and be left alone. Is that too much to ask?
